★03/08/12 › nile: Here I am. Just shy of a year later, I am back to check up on Pyrrhic. The reality to me is that I cannot run this site without Tre, Mutt, Nali, and the others who so influenced what Pyrrhic was all about. To those three especially, I am so sorry, and so deeply ashamed. For those who do not know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2011. Now, in March of 2012, I have gotten the official clearing from my oncologist that I am completely cancer-free. The cancer is something I don't want to let become a part of my life, but roleplaying is. This site would be lonely without those three, who were truly the best friends I've ever had online. I have been to other sites under the alias of "South," simply because I am almost embarrassed to show my name knowing how much I left.

For those interested, I will have a new site up and running within the next few months. This one, I promise not to leave. The past few months of fighting have taught me to grow up and what I feel is important and what it takes to make and keep me happy. I apologize to all who miss Pyrrhic. I do too. More than Pyrrhic or roleplaying or my characters, I have missed the people I was so close with. I am so sorry to all of you. Maybe one day, the gang will come back together and Pyrrhic can be returned to what she was before life got in the way.

07/27/11 › tre: Im very sorry to everyone who was looking forward to plotting and character development here at Pyrrhic. With Nile being to stressed with her real life, presumabaly, it's been hard to run the site on my own. Without having all of the information and powers to run the site on my own, it's just not feesable for me to continue. Maybe one day Nile will return to Pyrrhic, bring her back to her former glory. Until then, farwell all. I hope we can keep in touch. If you don't mind giving wolves a try, please try my other site, Anikira!

06/16/11 › tre: In hopes to jumpstart activity around here and possibly begin brainstorming a site wide plot, I've posted postition auditions for both the Duarte Brotherhood and the Vargen Sovereignty. They're in the Staff Announcement board. As an incentive, any of your characters accepted into either group, you'll earn points for. Just how many you ask? Well, go check out the threads and find out!! Another one of my surprises should be up within the next week hopefully. ^.~

06/02/11 › tre: Happy June everyone!! Okay, so there's really nothing special about June, unless your birthday is in June, or you're a father... : ) At any rate, all of the members who did not reply to the activity check have been deleted, their accepted and uncompleted characters moved to the archives. Old work in progress characters that were not finished and accepted were also moved. If you want to resurect your unfinished charrie, you can... But for a price of 30 points each. Even with all of that done, old threads were moved to the archives as well. Next on my list is updating the sidebar information.
I also have a few surprises for everyone that you'll see popping up within the next couple of weeks. ^^

05/26/11 › nile: Yeah, bitches. Look who this update is from. Thought you got rid of me, did you? MUAHAHAHA, NEVERRRR. I am back, full-fledged, with an open schedule, no more high school, and a dictator-like reign to whip you all back into place. Tre's too nice; she may let you all sit comfortably and have simple, pleasant moments in the cbox; but no more. The slavedriver's back, ladies and gents.
My friend Andrew has just finished up his sixth round of chemotherapy, and while he's still sick, he's proved to everyone what a fighter he is. The doctors are hopeful, and I'm so sure that he's gonna make it out of this with grace. And high school is over, so here I am!
In the next day or two, I'm going to compile myself a list of shit to get done. I'll make a thread so you can help me. And, expect a bit of an aesthetically pleasing surprise in the near future. ;)

On a lighter note, I want to personally congratulate our members 'Nali and H.ostile for their work in the thread nobody here but time. In two days the pair managed to complete a full thread that was done very tastefully. Not to mention, it is the first completed thread on Pyrrhic! Each has been award 25 points for their success.

05/13/11 › tre: It's been a while since we admins posted an Update and with a few minutes of free time in my busy life, I decided I'd just let everyone know what's happening around Pyrrhic, and my ideas on why activity has been so slow. First off, Nile is currently dealing with a good friend of her fighting cancer, so to everyone, please be respectful of her low activity because of this. I'm sure she'll pop in every now and then, but don't get frustrated with the site because our Head Admin isn't around during this crucial period of her life. Have some sympathy. Other than that, I expect to see activty pick up more after school gets let out and most of us are finished with our finals. I'm just trying to find the time between work and household chores to post. I'll be putting up an Activity Check here pretty soon to weed out the inactive members who join and forget about us. So be looking for that within the next week. Other than that, I hope you guys are getting out and enjoying the nice weather (at least hopefully it's nice where you live!).

First off, congratulations to Kappa and Mudbug, our new staff members! They were announced at our 20 member bash, which concluded with a webcam dance party. There I am, singing and dancing, and making a fool of myself no doubt. If you want to see my dancing in all it's glory, drag that image to the URL bar. Another new feature is our new mascot! See him to the left of the chatbox in the footer. His name is Cornelius Gatsby, and he is the richest, most classy Magikarp you've ever seen. First off, I would like to welcome all the new members and introduce myself to you since I was m.i.a. when you all arrived. My name is Tre, I like to reading and taking long walks on the beach. I prefer sunrise to sunset - oh wait. Wrong forum! ^.~ I've read everyone's accepted character bio's and breezed through those that are incompleted at the moment. I can't wait to start roleplaying with all of you. You all seem very talented in your own ways.
On another topic, take a look at the cbox! Oh my goodness gracious - it's been upgraded! No more refreshing! Whoo-hoo!!! -let's party!- I figured since Pyrrhic has come a long way in just a few short days, I wouldn't mind spending the $6.00 to upgrade (mostly because I hate missing out on a conversation due to lack of refreshing). I hope you all enjoy the improvement to our wonderful site as much as I do.

04/09/11 › nile: Another update for you all: I'm working on trying to upgrade the cbox, but due to the fact that I don't turn 18 until June, I can't get a credit card before then. The plus side to having an upgraded cbox is being able to register your names, and NO REFRESHING to get new messages; it literally runs just like an instant messenger. See other advantages here. It costs $6 USD to upgrade our cbox for three months. If anyone wishes to donate that $6, the payment is secure, and goes straight to the cbox website, never to Pyrrhic (so don't worry, no one's taking your money). 03/25/11 › nile: Since the skin is working rather properly, it's time for me to create all of the boards and content. xD Luckily, I've saved myself enough graphics work to do that I don't think I'll be pain-stricken enough to quit. xD The concept for the site is coming along nicely, and I'm really excited to be doing the content, even if I do hate this part.

03/21/11 › nile: So much work to do! After finally picking a name and a theme, Pyrrhic has been created. After an even more grueling battle, the skin is (starting) to come together. My mediocre coding skills don't help. Either way, I'm hoping to have this site up-and-running by the first week of April!
