The soft pitter patter of drops upon the roof had finally settled down, clouds parting to reveal the true beauty of the afternoon. And the Madam Glain was taking full advantage of the new sunshine.
Lazily the Mackenzie Valley whore stretched out upon a couch in the parlor, half of her body bathed in the sunbeams. She had been laying there for a better part of the hour, enjoying the warmth. With her business slow and no company for the time being, she saw no problem with taking a little break. Everyone needed to relax every now and then. Her body certainly needed the break.
Recruitment for new companions was going too slowly. Thus far all she'd met was Visa who had walked in like she owned the place. And now she had no idea where Ibizan had wandered off to. A pretentious snort blew up a bit of dust from where she lay. Served her right. She needed dogs that respected her and the rules of the house. How was she supposed to guarantee satisfaction if her companions tried to do things their way instead of her way? The thought was absurd! She was top dog, er, wolf, around here, and anyone who did not respect that did not deserve to set foot on her property.
But for now Glain was not going to worry about that. The afternoon was too nice to not enjoy it. If she wanted a day off, she could damn well take one. And that was exactly what she did.

Black claws clicked against the sidewalk as the rather small Shiba female made her way through The Humansplace. Ember had heard rumors around Pyrrhus that there was a mansion around here a group of dogs used as a home, but they also conducted business here. Lewd business that Ember would never think about getting involved in in her life. However, she also heard rumors that this place was the perfect spot for gossip and information. With many dogs going in and out of Le Petite Maison de Passe, which Ember believed was French for The Little Trick House. Oddly named in her opinion but somehow fitting all the same.
When the red and tanned colored female got up to the mansion she stood there for a good few minutes as she tried to work up her courage to actually go inside. She flushed a shade of red under her fur at the thought of the... Well, all the things she might see in there.
Green eyes darted around, embarrassed to be caught even staring at the place. Even if she did decide she was going to go through with this-which she still wasn't sure she was-it was nonetheless embarrassing...!
With a deep breath, the Shiba collected her thoughts. How she would and or should go about this was beyond her. Should she just come here as a client here and there and ask questions to her uh, partner for the hour. Or could she come to offer her services as a companion for clients of her own? If she chose the first option she could come whenever she liked and wouldn't have to worry about the rules of the house. She was sure there were rules to follow as was with any organization. Then again if she chose the latter of the two, she could, and most likely would, see more dogs and gain more information.
A heavy sigh left her muzzle.
Either way it would require she do the dirty deed. A thing she hasn't done yet. The big V. She could feel the label standing out like a sore thumb on her forehead. Like she could walk around and everyone would just know. She had a sinking suspicion that upon entering here, considering they where professionals and all, they would indeed just know. It was like she had this big giant red V painted on her.
Another deep breath and Ember stood herself tall and marched herself right into the mansion before she lost her courage. “Um. Hello? Is anyone here...?” She dared to peek around corners as she tip toed down the halls, cautious of anyone that might be around and of the things she might see.

She knew it wasn't one of the girls because at the moment she didn't have any. And it couldn't be a regular client because they knew better than to just walk in. Which meant whoever was poking around the foyer most likely had no business being her. The Madam didn't take lightly to rudeness, and home invasion was one of her pet peeves.
But she would wait a few more minutes before she took action. She had to squint against the sunlight and the unwanted transition from light to dark was giving her a bit of a headache. As she leaped down gracefully from the couch, she took a moment to stretch her body. Vertebrae cracked repeatedly as she first bowed and then pulled forwards to stretch out her lower half. It felt good to have her muscles working again after she'd spent so long reclining, but a part of her was wishing she could go back and finish her nap. Strangers always had a habit of seeking her attention during the most inopportune of times.
Glain prowled her way out of the parlor, looking rather intimidating as she painted her face with a sneer. A voice had called out not long after the door was moved, sounding distinctly female. It wasn't an overly confident sound which lead her to one conclusion. Whoever it was had gotten herself lost and was in need of some direction. To think she had been woken up for such an inconvenience! If possible, her look darkened.
"Is there a reason you are trespassing in my home? The polite thing to do would be to bark at the door." She stood in the open doorway that connected the parlor to the foyer, head held high and glaring at the nosy Shiba. The little girl certainly looked lost given the way she was peering about the place. She looked as if she was expecting something to jump out of the shadows and bite her. Glain chuckled. Maybe she could make this fun.

[scrolly:h(200),w(380),sy,c(505a26)] "Is there a reason you are trespassing in my home? The polite thing to do would be to bark at the door."
The voice startled Ember, causing her to jump and whip around as fast as she could to stare at the rather large wolf glaring down at her. Well large compared to her that was. Ember's green eyes widen slightly and she took a few steps backwards having not expected a wolf to come and greet her, and so angrily too. “I-I'm sorry...!” She quickly apologized, now realizing that barking would have been more polite and easier to do. Swallowing a nervous lump in her throat, Ember tried to calm her nerves and relax. This wolf had said this was her home so she was assuming she was the Ma'am of the house.
Clearing her throat, Ember tried to look as confident as she could. “My name is Ember, I'm... looking to... er, join your uh, house...” She mentally kicked herself as the confidence in her voice quickly faded to uncertainty as she asked her awkward question.
Many thoughts ran through the young Shiba's head as she thought of the possible things this wolf could say to her. If she accepted it would be quite the relief, but if she denied her or questioned her motive for wanting to join in her little whore house Ember wasn't quite sure how she would react. She could beg for it, or explain why she wanted to in the first place.
Or just call it a day and start back at square one and figure out a different way to find information quickly.

It was clear the little dog was on edge, nerves lit on fire that only burned hotter every minute she stood there. To add to the intimidating atmosphere, the shewolf decided to step forwards. Her head was held out, neck and back forming a straight, elegant line. Every move she made contained a practiced grace, and the swish of her tail spoke more of a threat than it did any enjoyment. When they were but a mere five feet away, she held the other's confident gaze, skepticism in her own eyes. It was only when the Shiba, Ember, spoke, that she cooled it with the games.
While she really was skeptical of this timid bitch's abilities, she wasn't about to pass up the chance to sign on a potential companion. La Petite Maison was short staffed at the moment. Like it or not, she would take pretty much anyone that was willing. Well, that was provided they could make it past her interview.
Sitting down in one fluid motion, her expression changed to one of no nonsense. It was time to get down to business. Her gaze became more critical, more piercing as she looked over the orangy pelt and Japanese build, assessing now rather than mocking. The lack of confidence had already been noted, but that could have been attributed to a number a things. After all, not every bitch was comfortable with outright stating that she wanted the work of a whore.
"I am Glain, the Madam. Tell me, what is it exactly you'll be expected to do here?" Question one was always simple enough. She needed to find out if every wannabe had gotten her reputation straight. And she wanted to hear them admit to the business they wanted to commit to. What good was a companion who was not comfortable with talking about his or her way of living? From here on out the questions would only get more invasive, so if the Shiba didn't calm down real soon then she would be forced to get out. Glain needed a willing whore, not some disillusioned puppy who thought the lifestyle was cool but chickened out when it was time to perform.

[scrolly:h(200),w(380),sy,c(505a26)] Ember's green eyes watched with awe and wonder as the she-wolf moved closer the growing lump in her throat became difficult to swallow. She took a half step backwards before sitting down, hopefully masking her shaking. She'd never been so nervous before, and it was so silly. Maybe this hadn't of been such a good idea after all. Ember didn't belong here... But, she needed to know. She needed the information she required! Who knows maybe she'd actually like the job... If this she-wolf would accept her into her ranks that is.
Ember swallowed the hard lump in her throat and when the she-wolf sat down, Ember was able to relax a little more. Though the serious expression made her feel under the lamp as one would say. She knew that look well, it was time for some questions. She'd used this look on many others before when seeking the information she needed. Ember tilted her head up, attentive and ready to answer anything thrown at her. Her fake confidence would get her through this... She hoped.
The she-wolf introduced herself as Glain, to which she dipped her head and muttered softly. “It's a pleasure to meet you Ma'am Glain...” Her words trailed off as she listened to the question that followed her introduction. A flare of embarrassment lite up her cheeks under her fur and Ember took a moment, but only a moment, to gather herself and answer the question. “Well, one would offer their, uh, services so to speak...” She tried to choose her words carefully, trying to be more or less discreet about it.

The little Shiba was just too adorable. She was nervous and blushing and refused to outright say the words. Innocence was written clean across her face. This interview was going to be more fun than she had first thought.
"Come now, Ember. You must tell me what services, as you call them, you have to offer." She purposely used the girls name, making the interview less formal and more personal. After all, this experience was all about the delicate girl. And Glain delighted in the idea of making her squirm.
This was a raunchy business, so any and all squeamishness would have to be gotten over at some point. The prude would fade with time, replaced by a brilliant seductress that knew how to earn her keep. With some proper training, the wolf had no doubts that she could turn the most naive fool into a brilliant companion. "I'll also need to know what sort of experience you have. On the job training is a given, but I like to know what I have to work with." Ah, the joys of overly personal questions.
